Configuring Application-Level Settings

Configuring Application-Level Settings

Once your HCSS Web Edition Pre-Bill Module is activated, you’ll need to configure your application-level settings in EWBills. This ensures the module is properly connected to HCSS and ready for use across all jobs.

Steps to Configure the Module

  1. Open Application Setup
In EWBills, navigate to Application Setup, then click on the new tab labeled HeavyJob.

  2. Enable the Module

    • Check the box for "Use HCSS HeavyJob Web Edition API".

    • This will reveal additional configuration options across multiple tabs.

  3. Enter API Credentials

    • Go to the HeavyJob API Identity Credentials tab.

    • Under the Live Credentials section, enter the Client ID and Client Secret you received from HCSS.

    • Click Verify Credentials.

  4. Select Business Unit (if applicable)
If your HCSS account includes multiple business units, you’ll be prompted to select the one you wish to use.

Next Configuration Tabs

There are three other important tabs to configure after verifying credentials:

  1. Pre-Bill Setup - Control how imported timecards are processed and mapped
  2. Code Setup - Set up billable hour codes and automatic MSE reminders
  3. Code – ID Assignment  - Map Employee IDs, Equipment IDs, and Pay Class data from HCSS to EWBills.

⚙️ These settings apply at the application level, meaning the module will be active by default for all jobs—unless overridden at the job level.
